![]() Is the patched xorg server the answer here? I guess I will try it and see if it helps.Įdit: the patched xorg seems to have resolved the issue. I'm using metacity as my window manager with standard gtk window decorator. For instance I have been meaning to patch to the latest alsa snapshot, since supposedly it fixes the passthrough problem.Ĭatalyst catalyst-utils 10.10-2 Ĭatalyst lib32-catalyst-utils 10.10-1 Ĭatalyst xorg-server-catalyst-maximize-fix 1.9.0-1 I'm sure it is possible to match this in Linux, it's just going to take some extra work in the case of my hardware. With EVR in Windows everything works great, with the best picture quality in MPC-HC. As we all know this doesn't give the best cinema experience. Using a Front Channels (stereo mixer) and outputting as PCM via digital coax works fine though. It will work for some time, but the bitstream will just crash and I lose the DTS/Dolby signal on my receiver, then I have to switch back to sterero. ![]() I mostly boot to windows for gaming, but I also boot it to watch movies due to the following: I love Linux and all, but damn Windows is so much better (or at least easier) to manage HD video playback. xvfb is installed as well, so I need to test that. ![]() I use VLC with pretty much the defaults, though trying different video renderers didn't seem to help. I'll try some more things out as time permits. I'm not talking about barely noticeable lag, I mean single digit FPS. I tested a 480P It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode and it even lagged on that. If I force Vsync via amdcccle>3d>always use vsync I don't gear tearing, however videos lag. Some of them quite some time ago, however I looked over the wiki again last night. Hey DarksideEE7, have you already tried stuff like … ying_video ?
